Courses at Anantapur

The courses offered by the university can broadly divided into

Under-Graduate Courses: Duration 3 years (6 Semesters)

  • B.A.(with one of the following subjects being the major subject during third year - History, Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, Optional English, Optional Telugu)

    Students studying for the B.A. degree would have to major in one subject, which implies studying that particular subject in greater depth in the third year. The subjects options are described in Section 3. Based on their aptitude as well as class-room performance, students would be guided by Teachers in the choice of the Major Subject.

  • Bachelor of Home Science

    The Bachelor of Home Science is a three-year composite course

  • B.Com.(Hons.)

    The B.Com.(Hons) is a self-contained three-year course, whose academic content is at the Honours level and the syllabus outline

  • B.Sc.(Hons.) Students admitted to the B.Sc.(Hons) Course will, during the first two years, be given a pertinent, broad based training; the third year is set apart for specialization in a particular subject.

    On admission, the student would have to choose one of the following subject combinations for study during the first two years.

    1. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
    2. Chemistry, Botany, Zoology

Students choosing the Chemistry, Botany, Zoology combination would have the option of specializing in Chemistry or Botany or Zoology during the third year.

In the case of students opting for the Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry combination, three options are available. During the third year the student can specialize in Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry.

In all cases where options are available, the student would be asked to indicate his/her preference. While every effort would be made to accommodate the student's choice, the University reserves the right to make the final allocation in accordance with its own internal criteria.

Post-Graduate Courses: Duration 2 years (4 Semesters)

  • M.A.
    • English Language & Literature
    • Telugu & Language & Literature
  • M.Sc. (Biosciences)
  • Master of Home Science

Note:These courses have been designed as a part of a comprehensive five-year programme, leading from the UG level to the Master's degree wherever applicable.

Candidates admitted to the UG programme are eligible for admission to the above courses, provided they secure a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) as prescribed by the University in Bachelor's degree. Lateral admission to these Post-Graduate programmes is not open to the external candidates.

Professional Course: Duration 1 year (2 Semesters)

  • B.Ed. Bachelor of Education
